The food unit when it initially arrived on-site.
At the start of the project, I was invited down to see the van and get a vibe for what the client wanted it to feel like and what food it would be serving and who the van was targeted for. I went away and created a mood board for the van before beginning to design for the client. I then began designing on photoshop, I wanted to put Mike at the heart of the business so centred the brand accordingly. I created a moodboard to visuallyy present my ideas to the client.
I then moved onto the next design phase and created front elevation mock-ups and branding and logo designs to see how they would work out in differing contexts. This helped me get the go-ahead from the client to start work on preparations for painting the unit. I then created a render of what the final van would look like.
I then began painting the van by cutting stencils for the text work and hand painting shadows around then as well as hand-painting the burgers directly onto the van. I also built signs out of reclaimed wood from pallets for a rustic look on the van.
