SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE

When it came to designing Robin Hood, I knew I wanted to throw a highlight on class divide and poverty, something as relevant today as it was in the fictional story and time period. I wated to ensure I both took pastiche from that original story and film but equally present an industrial, busy and eclectic environment the characters could interact with, alter and change as their story changes.
Living in Nottingham, the research was all around and exploring that story became an exciting constant task in awareness of the world around. Constantly documenting and noticing the world around to create something that felt lovingly lived in.
Working on a smaller budget was a task in creativily re-using exisitng assets, lighting and recycled materials to create a visually exciting and engaging landscape.
Hazelwood School has been a fantastic client to work with and I look forward to our partnership moving forward!
